Building on our successful documentaries beginning in 1998, we have
continued improving on the same format. Our upcoming television documentary
will not only provide great race coverage but also much more information
from a "real Canadian" perspective. It also will focus on the high-technology
side as the race vehicle will include many state-of-the-art components.
The first part of the film documents the team's preparation for the Baja 1000,
known as the "Indy 500" of offroad racing. The interpersonal aspect will be
maintained during the second half of the film covering the team's experiences,
chellenges, interviews with the drivers, and the Baja 1000 itself.
The documentary is initially filmed in Canada as a lead-in to the primary
filming in Mexico. Included is a full outline of our team's participation
in the Baja 1000, direct from the Baja peninsula.
After the Canadian portion of the filming, the focus will shift to an outline
of the incredible challenge presented by the Mexican desert. After presenting
the course map with an explanation of the route and some of the hazards, including
the infamous "booby-traps" set up by the Mexican locals, we'll then explain
our strategies and pre-race preparations before the green flag starts the
race for our drivers.
The infamous Mexican "booby-trap"
Onboard cameras cover the exciting start of the race, with the film replaced
at every pit stop. Along the route, strategic locations will have been picked
out for optimum filming and driver commentaries.
The exciting fuel stops will also be filmed, as we race against the clock
and against the other competitors. Any crashes, injures, and extreme obstacles
along route will be filmed as we encounter them. There will be play by play
commentary by a well known Canadian broadcaster doing the voice-over.
Filming will wrap up as Team Canada Racing crosses the finish line. Of
course, we'll enjoy some cheering and champagne spraying!
